Job summary

Triumph Group, Inc. seeks an experienced NDT Level III to lead the development, direction, and maintenance of the company’s nondestructive testing programs in compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.

This role provides technical leadership, oversees qualification of NDT personnel, and ensures the effectiveness of all inspection processes. The ideal candidate holds an NDT Level III certification with at least five years in NDT, including Level II/III responsibilities, and

Qualifications

  • Current and valid NDT Level III certification in at least one method.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in NDT, including Level II/III responsibilities.
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, approve, and maintain NDT procedures for all applicable methods (e.g., PT, MT, UT, RT, VT, ET).
  • Provide technical guidance and interpretation of codes, specifications, and standards.
  • Qualify, certify, and evaluate NDT Level I and II personnel, including training and examinations.
  • Audit NDT operations, ensure compliance with internal procedures, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Review and approve NDT techniques, equipment, materials, and process changes.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to inspection methods and equipment.
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of NDT equipment.
  • Support Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams by providing expert oversight of inspection needs.
  • Participate in root-cause investigations and corrective action development for quality-related issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of NDT technologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Support external audits and customer reviews related to special processes.

Job description

Position Summary

The NDT Level III is responsible for developing, directing, and maintaining the company’s Nondestructive Testing programs in accordance with applicable standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role provides technical leadership, oversees qualification of NDT personnel, and ensures compliance and effectiveness of all inspection processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Level III certification in multiple NDT methods.
  • Experience within aerospace, defense, or similar industries.
  • Familiarity with digital inspection technologies and automated NDT systems.

Qualifications
  • Current and valid NDT Level III certification in at least one method, per ASNT SNT‑TC‑1A, NAS‑410, or equivalent.
  • Minimum [5] years of experience in NDT, including substantial experience in Level II and Level III responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and defect mechanisms.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills for training and certifying personnel.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
  • High attention to detail and adherence to quality and safety requirements.
