Level II NDT Technician - X-Ray Reader
Titanium Aerospace Production
Day Shift, Swing Shift, Weekend Shift

Summary:
The NDT Level II - X-Ray Reader will utilize expertise in non-destructive testing to assure compliance with quality requirements of the company and customers. They will interpret radiographic images and document results in accordance with established technique cards, develop shooting techniques as required, calibrate equipment, and train X-Ray Shooters as needed.

Essential Functions:

  1. Perform non-destructive testing using radiographic images to determine casting quality and pinpoint corrections needed for discrepancies in parts.
  2. Utilize instructions for radiographic inspections of castings through technique cards.
  3. Evaluate each image to ensure uniform accuracy and image quality.
  4. Visually inspect each casting to identify areas that require improvements in casting or welding.
  5. Find areas of frequently occurring imperfections and consult engineering or other necessary departments.
  6. Endorse radiographic reports authorizing complete and accurate inspections have been performed and findings documented.
  7. Develop shooting techniques as required.
  8. Calibrate equipment and inspect radiographic equipment.
  9. Train others as needed.
  10. Other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Ability to understand all associated documentation and part routing procedures.
  2. Ability to maintain high quality ratings while also processing parts at an acceptable production speed.
  3. Ability to work well with minimal supervision.

Education, Certifications and Experience:

  1. At least 1 year of experience working as an X-Ray Shooter.
  2. Please bring all radiographic training of OJT certificates during the interview if selected.
  3. High School diploma or GED is required.
  4. Candidates will remain as an X-Ray Shooter until all classroom, testing, and OJT hours required to be an X-Ray Reader have been completed.
  5. Must have vision acuity which meets test chart and color perception to distinguish and differentiate between colors used.
  6. Must be able to work outside department as required.

Work Conditions:

  1. Work may be performed in noisy areas, with odors and fumes present.

Schedule:

  1. Day Shift Monday-Thursday
  2. Swing Shift Monday-Thursday ($1.00/hr. shift differential)
  3. Weekend Day Shift ($1.25/hr. shift differential)

Relocation assistance may be available to qualified candidates.
