Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking a Level II NDT Inspector for a temp-to-hire, onsite role with an aerospace client in the Greater Chatsworth area. The NDT Technician conducts Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and must have Level 1 NAS410 certification; Level 2 is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include MT inspections, setup, interpretation of drawings, and documentation to ensure part integrity and airworthiness.

Qualifications

• Current NAS410 Level 1 MT certification required.
• Experience performing MT inspections in aerospace/defense/precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to distinguish colors and view fluorescent indications for MT inspection.
• Preferred: NAS410 Level 2 MT certification.
• Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI/AS9102) and GD&T knowledge.

• Perform MT (MPI) inspections on raw materials, in-process, and finished parts per specifications and procedures.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate MT equipment including benches, yokes, and demagnetization equipment.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions to apply correct inspection method and acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate indications, determine accept/reject, and document results.
• Document inspection results and nonconformances; support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assist with audits, FAI/AS9102, and related quality activities; follow safety and housekeeping requirements in NDT area.

Job description

JSG is seeking a Level II NDT Inspector for a temp to hire, onsite position for our established Aerospace client in the Greater Chatsworth area. The Nondestructive Testing Technician performs Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) — also called MPI or Mag Particle inspection - on parts across all company divisions to detect discontinuities and confirm conformance to customer and regulatory specifications. Current Level 1 MT certification (NAS410) is REQUIRED; Level 2 is strongly preferred. This role is key to ensuring part integrity and airworthiness.Responsibilities:.Perform MT (MPI) inspections on raw materials, in-process, and finished parts per applicable specifications and procedures.
