Job summary

Northrop Grumman is hiring for an NDI training and apprenticeship program in Palmdale, CA. The role focuses on training in-field nondestructive inspection of aircraft and composites, guiding you through NDT methods with engineers to ensure quality at reasonable cost.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, complete NDI training through AATA, and possess an active Secret clearance with ability to obtain additional access. Travel up to 25% and shift flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must complete NDI Training Program provided by Northrop Grumman through American Aerospace Technical Academy (AATA).
• Active or in-scope Government Secret Security Clearance within last 5 years, and ability to obtain Program Special Access as needed.
• Valid US Passport or ability to obtain.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Able to lift up to approximately 35 pounds; may lift 50 pounds with assistance.
• Willing to work any shift, overtime, or non-standard schedule.

Responsibilities

• Train for in-field nondestructive inspection of aircraft.
• Learn skills for inspection of composite aerospace components and other articles.
• Follow unique nondestructive inspection techniques, methods, and procedures.
• Collaborate with design, project, and quality engineers to select best NDT method.
