Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an NDI Quality Inspector IV to perform nondestructive testing on aircraft parts using ultrasonic, radiographic, PAUT and other methods per NAS-410 guidelines.

You will train toward Level 2 certification, implement procedures, review customer requirements, and guide NDI technicians while improving test processes and data integrity across programs.

Qualifications

• Formal NDI training with multi-method experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Clear communication of complex processes to junior inspectors.
• Proficiency with standard computer and recordkeeping tools.

Responsibilities

• Training to Level 2 in multiple NDI methods per NAS-410.
• Implementing procedures and techniques as required.
• Performing control checks on test method capability.
• Documenting test outcomes and advising team members.
• Reviewing customer requirements and industry standards.
• Developing and maintaining NDI processes and procedures.
• Understanding manufacturing methods related to NDI data.
• Operating ultrasonic, PAUT, radiographic and related test equipment.
• Operating robotic scanners and computed radiography systems.
• Identifying new technologies to improve NDI capabilities.
• Interface with engineers and customers to improve processes.
• Providing guidance to other NDI technicians.
• Integrating improvements for cost, cycle time, and satisfaction.
• Performing mechanical inspections and interpreting GD&T.
• Supporting audits with accurate inspection records.
