Job summary

Astrion supports the LASSO contract at Kennedy Space Center, FL, by providing NDE inspection expertise for in-field and laboratory work. The full-time represented position participates in NDT tasks essential to space hardware inspection.

The role requires extensive NDT certification, experience, and the ability to obtain security clearance, enabling collaboration with Kennedy Space Center and Space Force personnel on critical flight hardware.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and completion of a related NDE/NDT training curriculum.
• Two or more years of experience performing Nondestructive Testing (NDT).
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
• NDE/NDT Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) per ANSI practices (SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E).
• Minimum of three additional NDE/NDT Level II certifications (UT, ET, MT, PT, LT, VT, CCTV/CWI, IR).
• Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform tasks and provide guidance to trainees, Level I and Level II employees engaged in field or laboratory NDE inspection activities.
• Follow written work instructions.
• Setup, standardize, and operate NDE test equipment.
• Interpret results of NDE inspections performed on equipment, systems and flight hardware.
• Perform tests and interpret results utilizing NDE methods such as Radiography, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Leak Detection, Visual/Optical (CCTV/CWI) and Infrared.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Perform work assigned with responsible NDE engineering or management.
• Safely perform all work in compliance with laboratory best practices and local policies and procedures.
• Perform tasks as directed.

Overview

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician supporting the LASSO contract at Kennedy Space Center, FL. This fulltime represented position is responsible for performing in field and laboratory NDE inspections. This position supports the Kennedy Space Center and United States Space Force 45th Space Wing at Canaveral Space Force Station.

Required Qualifications / Skills

• High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and completion of a related NDE/NDT technical training curriculum.
• Two or more years of experience performing Nondestructive Testing (NDT).
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
• NDE/NDT Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) in accordance with applicable ANSI practices, including SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E.
• A minimum of three additional NDE/NDT Level II certifications in accordance with applicable ANSI practices, including SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E.
