Job summary

Astrion at Kennedy Space Center, FL seeks a 2nd shift Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technician to perform field and laboratory inspections supporting spaceflight hardware.

The role requires NDE/NDT Level II RT certification, multiple additional Level II NDE certifications, a valid Florida driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. On-site, 3-11:30 PM shift with no travel.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and completion of an NDE/NDT training curriculum.
• Two or more years of experience performing NDT.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• NDE/NDT Level II certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) per ANSI/SNT-TC-1A or MIL-STD-410E.
• Minimum of three additional NDE/NDT Level II certifications per ANSI (e.g., UT, ET, MT, PT, LT, VT, CCTV/CWI, IR).
• Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform tasks and provide guidance to trainees, Level I and II staff in field or lab NDE inspections.
• Follow written work instructions.
• Set up, standardize, and operate NDE test equipment.
• Interpret results of NDE inspections on equipment, systems and flight hardware.
• Perform tests and interpret results using Radiography, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Leak Detection, Visual/Optical (CCTV/CWI) and Infrared methods.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Perform tasks with guidance from NDE engineering or management.
• Work safely in compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.
