Job summary

Southern Company is seeking an NDE Technician to lead and coordinate generation non-destructive examination activities across fleet sites. You will perform pre-planned and emergency inspections, ensuring safe, reliable operation of boilers, turbines and balance-of-plant equipment.

The role requires Level II certifications in MT/PT/VT (and UT Level II/III preferred), knowledge of ASME/NDE standards, and ability to travel domestically.

Qualifications

• Industrial site experience is required.
• Level II NDE certifications in MT/PT/VT required.
• Knowledge of ASME/NDE codes and standards.
• Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee inspections on plant equipment including boilers, turbines, cooling towers, pumps and fans.
• Develop inspection procedures and certification protocols; provide technical direction.
• Plan, organize and execute inspections with strong initiative.
• Maintain high-level knowledge of all NDE methods and hold Level II in four or more methods.
