Job summary

American Electric Power (APCO) is seeking a semi-skilled NDE inspector to perform inspections using liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, visual tests and related equipment. The role includes cleaning, painting, and maintenance of the Central Machine Shop, plus assisting higher classifications and maintaining records.

Applicants should have a 2-year technical degree or two years of relevant experience, with a medium physical demand and safety compliance.

Qualifications

2 year technical degree or certificate or 2 years experience with a qualified contractor or service provider.
Third class NDE Inspector must demonstrate required skills or progress toward them before end of probation, with promotion potential within one year.
Medium physical demand level and adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist in inspections using tested methods (LPT, MPI, UT, VT) and related equipment.
Perform general parts cleaning and painting.
Maintain the Central Machine Shop building and equipment.
Assist higher classifications in completing work assignments.
Report irregularities and keep records as required.
Ensure all work follows safety regulations and shop practices.
Support APCO's customer-first culture and expectations.
Perform similar or less skilled tasks as assigned.
