Overview

The Japanese Language Extension Instructor shall teach varying levels of non-credit Japanese language courses. Instructors shall teach a minimum of one course per semester for a total minimum of three courses per year. Each course lasts fifteen weeks, with one class per week and each class lasts 2 hours. The only exception is a special weekday course offering that lasts ten weeks, with two classes per week and each class lasts 90 minutes. Based on experience and interest, instructors will be assigned to courses ranging from beginner level up to preparation for the JLPT N1 exam. Textbooks vary for each course and will be chosen by NC Japan Center management. Based on student demand and instructor availability, instructors may teach more than one class per week, but the total number of weekly hours shall be fewer than twenty hours.
