Job summary

Austin Industrial is hiring a Millwright NCCER in a hands-on industrial setting. Must be able to install, repair, replace and dismantle machinery and heavy equipment with a focus on alignment, lubrication, and safe operation.

Strong experience with basic assembly, leveling, and measurement tools is required. Applicants should have NCCER credentials, a valid driver’s license or state ID, and at least ten years as a journeyman.

Qualifications

• No minimum educational requirement.
• 10+ years of Journeyman level experience.
• NCCER certification and a valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• Physically able to perform duties including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Replace defective parts and adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
• Connect power unit to machines or steam piping and test unit for proper operation.
• Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
• Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
• Lay out mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with a power drill.
• Level bedplate and establish centerline using straightedge, levels, and transit.
• Dismantle machines and equipment for shipment or repair, ensuring safety and documentation.
