Operates a variety of mobile hydraulic boom cranes with lifting capacities over 50 tons at locations where maneuverability is restricted, and accuracy is critical.

Typical Duties:

• Makes precise load placements where exact movements are necessary, to position the load accurately and safely.
• Supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its core values.
• Represents the Company with high moral standards and adheres to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
• Performs loading and unloading of equipment and supplies, especially where obstructions like masts and antennas exist.
• Precisely positions equipment, lifts heavy machinery and components, beams, and lumber.
• Cross-trains in other roles and performs related duties as assigned.
• Operates crane controls from within the cab, using pilot-operated joystick controls, pedals, levers, and buttons to lift, move, and position loads with various hoisting attachments.
• Inspects load hookup and safety, and reports on crane and hoisting mechanism condition.
• Maintains vigilance to safety hazards, taking corrective actions to minimize risks.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervision.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years of mechanical, industrial, or refinery maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools.
• Ability to pass equipment tests and visual inspections of operating machinery.
• Completion of Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and client/site-specific training.
• Must obtain and maintain an active drug testing program clearance.
• Possession of NCCCO and current DOT certifications.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk into and out of project sites via turnstile access.
• Extensive walking around construction sites.
• Climbing ladders, scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, and uneven surfaces.
• Working in confined spaces.
• Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry objects up to 40 pounds.
• Use of PPE such as fall protection harnesses and hard hats.
• Ability to be fit tested for and use respirators.
• Capability to work in hot and cold temperatures.
