Job summary

6AM City, LLC is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to create and document programs for assigned production cells. The role includes inspection documentation, process documentation, and maintaining CNC programs with strict quality standards.

Ideal candidates will have extensive production machining experience, strong GD&T interpretation, and proficiency in G-code, Mazatrol, and Fanuc controls. Safety Consciousness and teamwork are essential in this on-site Wisconsin facility.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in reading prints and GD&T.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with CNC programming and Mazatrol/Fanuc.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain CNC programs for assigned cells or products.
  • Maintain CNC program documentation including inspection sheets and restart sheets.
  • Establish quality standards for CNC processes and monitor tooling costs.
  • Review existing programs for cycle time improvements and accuracy of tooling.
  • Collaborate with engineering on product changes and process improvements.

JOB SUMMARY:

Create CNC programs, inspection and process documentation for assigned cells or products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
  • Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
  • Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
  • Maintain CNC program documentation for cell or product. This will include program storage, inspection sheets and restart sheets
  • Establish quality standards for CNC processes
  • Review existing programs for cycle time and consumable tooling cost savings
  • Monitor machine, fixture and probe accuracy on a regular schedule
  • Review new products with engineering and give input for improvement
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experienced working in the production machining field
  • Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
  • High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Well organized and self-directed
  • Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications
  • Proficient with CAD/CAM software
  • High degree of skill and broad knowledge of machining practices
  • Excellent print reading skills and basic knowledge of GD&T
  • High degree of precision and inspection skills
  • Experience working with CNC machines
  • Programming experience: G-code, Mazatrol, Fanuc, etc.
  • Machine tool/Journeyman’s apprenticeship recommended, but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience preferred in related field
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Will be required to perform job duties in a manufacturing production environment
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic
  • The noise level is moderate, and some production areas may require hearing protection in accordance with OSHA requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms above shoulders, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
  • Must comply with safety and PPE standards, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety toed shoes
