Qualifications

• Must meet NC Pre-K Lead Teacher qualifications.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Birth-Kindergarten or NC Pre-K approved field.
• Must meet NC Division of Child Development and Early Education requirements.
• Prior preschool or Pre-K teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
• Must successfully pass all required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead an NC Pre-K classroom using developmentally appropriate instructional practices.
• Create engaging lesson plans aligned with NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized learning environment.
• Foster children's cognitive, language, physical, emotional, and social development.
• Complete ongoing child assessments and developmental documentation.
• Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication and conferences.
• Ensure classroom compliance with NC Pre-K and North Carolina licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with administrators and fellow teachers to maintain high-quality programming.
• Mentor and support classroom assistants while modeling best teaching practices.
• Participate in required professional development and training.
