Job summary

Qualifications

• Proficient in creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks and troubleshooting automation issues.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Ansible Tower/AWX, YAML, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Experience automating Linux OS patches and upgrades using automation tools like Ansible.
• Hands-on with containerization and CI/CD workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, and Git-based workflows.
• Experience with building and packaging applications and managing code in Bitbucket/Git.
• Experience automating build/deploy processes including database changes using Ansible.

Responsibilities

Senior Automation Engineer

Primary Location: Raleigh, NC

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Senior Automation Engineer for our premier client in Raleigh, NC.

Education and Experience

• Experience developing automation scripts, operational utilities, and workflow scripts using Python/Bash/Shell 7
• Experience building and packaging applications with Docker, and managing and scaling containerized workloads using Kubernetes 2
• Experience in infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and environment management using Terraform and Ansible 4
• Experience with automating Linux OS and software patches and upgrades across multiple environments using automations tools like Ansible 7
• Hands on Experience (like branching, merging, configuring, and administering) with BitBucket or GIT Source Code Management tool 3
• Hands on experience in Automating build/deploy process including changes to database using tools like Ansible 7

Knowledge and Skills

• Role involves creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks, troubleshooting automation issues, ensuring consistent and reliable deployments across environments, and collaborating with DevOps and application teams to enhance CI/CD workflows. Strong knowledge of Linux, Ansible Tower/AWX, YAML, automation best practices, and infrastructure-as-code principles is required. Experience with debugging deployments, validating configurations, and improving release reliability is aplus.
