Job summary

FutureJobHub LLC in Syracuse, NY, is seeking an experienced NC/CNC Machine Set-Up & Operator for the 1st shift (6:30 AM – 2:30 PM). You will set up and operate a range of machine tools to fabricate metal components and ensure they meet tolerances.

Responsibilities include selecting tools and feeds, laying out and machining castings, inspecting parts for defects, and maintaining equipment and work areas following 5S and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of NC/CNC setup and operation experience.
• Must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY; relocation not provided.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

• Set up and operate engine lathes, vertical turret lathes, radial/spindle drill presses, shapers, surface grinders, and milling machines.
• Select appropriate tools, attachments, feeds, and speeds based on material and finish requirements.
• Layout and machine production and specialty castings to required tolerances.
• Work with steel, iron, brass, bronze, aluminum, and other metals.
• Layout, machine, fit, and assemble jigs and fixtures.
• Determine machining sequences and perform calculations involving angles, tapers, fits, and dividing heads.
• Inspect parts for finish allowance, material defects, and machining issues.
• Maintain machines and work areas according to 5S and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate engine lathes, vertical turret lathes, radial/spindle drill presses, shapers, surface grinders, and horizontal/vertical milling machines.
• Select appropriate tools, attachments, feeds, and speeds based on material and finish requirements.
• Layout and machine production and specialty castings to required tolerances.
• Work with steel, iron, brass, bronze, aluminum, and other metals.
• Layout, machine, fit, and assemble jigs and fixtures.
• Determine machining sequences and perform calculations involving angles, tapers, fits, and dividing heads.

Basic Qualifications:
