Job summary

Serco invites applicants for a Navy Production Analyst position at a Pascagoula, MS shipyard. You will oversee daily inspections, support programs, and ensure conformity to government regulations on hull, piping, HVAC, and electrical systems.

Requirements include a Secret clearance, a high school diploma or GED, and 5+ years in production or engineering. Travel up to 10% may be required; MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in production processes, craft or engineering.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with various levels of shipbuilding and naval personnel.
• Knowledge of basic ship design criteria, standard shipbuilding practices and changing documentation.
• Understanding of ship’s drawings and specification documentation.
• Technical ship construction coursework is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in creating and maintaining spreadsheets for tracking construction and quality of ship construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, revises, and apply technical quality assurance protocols/methods to inspect and test in-process raw materials, production equipment, and finished products.
• Reviews drawings and complex contract specifications to determine initial construction criteria and assist in development of quality assurance plans for projects.
• Reviews customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensures that the necessary criteria and provisions, including applicable government regulations, are included in quality and process plans.
• Performs ship checks for post-delivery work packages to ensure changes are incorporated and work is completed according to plan.
• Provides technical and shipboard support to Program Management for hull/steel, damage control, piping, HVAC and electrical system labeling and design requirements.
• Performs Damage Control Audits to ensure that various documentation and label plate discrepancies are resolved by the ship builder.
• Validates shipboard implementation of contract changes on board ships.
• Develop ship check summaries of contract changes in appropriate database.
• Conducts shipboard fire, safety, care and protection inspections of production areas within the shipbuilding facilities.
• Performs compartment completion inspections for hull, pipe, and machinery, electrical and outfitting installation to verify work is complete and correct.
• Performs verification of ship construction related trial card corrective actions.
• Provides guidance to less experienced Inspectors.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
