Job summary

Mission Technologies is seeking an entry-level Trade Assistant to support ITSIS program aboard U.S. Navy ships in Norfolk, VA. You will assist with maintenance, repairs, and installations under supervision, using basic hand tools and following blueprints and manuals.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires a High School diploma, a valid driver’s license, ability to obtain base access, and the potential for travel. Competitive benefits are provided along with career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and own hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with basic hand tools.
• Ability to work in a shipyard environment, including aboard U.S. Navy ships.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and work in a team.
• Ability to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of hire and maintain them.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry level technical trade duties supporting repairs, installations, and maintenance.
• Assist with work performed from blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals.
• Use basic hand tools to complete a range of tasks that vary based on project, customer requirements, and technical needs.
• Perform semi skilled and unskilled labor relating to mechanical and electrical systems.
• Support work outside standard duties, as needed, to complete installations or assigned tasks.
• Work closely with senior trades personnel and shipboard teams to support safe, effective operations.
