Job summary

Life Cycle Engineering is seeking a Navy Mechanical Planner Estimator for Bremerton, WA, to support Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. You will engage in project planning, material planning, and documentation for submarine mechanical systems, with DoD clearance expectations.

Responsibilities include technical work document development, QA documentation, and mentoring junior engineers while coordinating with the Engineering and Planning Department (200).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years practical engineering experience in naval ships or equivalent.
• Experience with Los Angeles Class and Virginia Class submarine maintenance, repairs and modernization.
• Knowledge of propulsion, shipboard systems and SUBSAFE framework.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed specifications, material, QA and test requirements, and project estimates.
• Perform ship checks for actual shipboard conditions.
• Prepare and develop technical work documents and instructions using listed systems.
• Research and prepare JMLs and order materials via MRQT.
• Mentor junior engineers on shipboard systems.
