Job summary

Ardalyst Defense, LLC is seeking an IT Technician I to support Navy operations in the Norfolk, VA region. You will help install, maintain, and troubleshoot shipboard IT, communications, and network systems while ensuring cybersecurity compliance.

The role involves working under supervision, documenting issues, and traveling to customer sites as needed. Qualified candidates have an Associate's degree in IT or related field, a DoD Secret clearance, and IAT Level I certification.

Qualifications

Associate degree required or equivalent.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
IAT Level I certification (e.g., Security+ CE) required per DoD.
Experience with Windows, patch management, and peripheral support.
Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, routers, switches, etc.
Familiarity with IA concepts and STIG compliance.
Shipboard/DoD environments experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, test, maintain shipboard IT, communications, and network equipment under supervision.
Image, patch, upgrade Windows workstations and laptops per cybersecurity procedures.
Support LAN deployment, virtualization, and other IT infrastructure for Navy operations.
Assist with IA/cybersecurity activities: patch management, vulnerability scans, STIGs, ACAS/Nessus assessments.
Install/certify cabling infrastructure (Cat5/Cat6, fiber).
Collaborate with government personnel and shipboard crews to ensure operability and mission readiness.
Document issues, root causes, corrective actions, and lessons learned per processes.
Submit daily status, activity, and inventory reports as required.
Travel to customer sites, naval installations, shipyards, and vessels as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
