Job summary

Ardalyst Defense, LLC is seeking an experienced IT Systems & Communications Technician to support Navy operations at Naval Station Norfolk. You will install, maintain and troubleshoot network devices, communications gear and Windows systems on site, ensuring IA compliance and system integrity.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance, IAT II+ certification, and the ability to travel up to 60% to support mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have IAT II or higher security certification as per DoD 8570.01M.
• Must obtain Computing Environment or vendor cert for comms equipment within 6 months.
• At least 1 year of experience with network configurations, Windows 10, ACAS/Nessus, STIG/SCAP checks.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Experience performing STIG/SCAP remediation and applying patches.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day installation, monitoring, testing and Tier 1-2 maintenance for network devices and communications equipment.
• Ensure IA compliance through patching, scanning and regular checks.
• Collaborate with system support to ensure operability and accreditation for equipment.
• Assist in developing SOPs, drawings and system documentation.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems & Communications Technician to support the our Navy customer. In this role, you will provide install support and conduct maintenance on various equipment onsite at Naval Station Norfolk and deployed platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform day to day installation, monitoring, testing and Tier 1-2 maintenance actions for network devices (routers and switches), communications equipment, Windows desktop systems and associated peripherals by installing, updating, conducting routine health checks, and troubleshooting/resolving technical issues.
• Ensure IA compliance by patching, scanning, and providing scans regularly.
• Work with a dedicated system support team to ensure operability and compliance/accreditation for all associated equipment.
• Assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), drawings, and system documentation.

Required Skills

• Have a current IAT II or higher security certification in accordance with IAWF DoD 8570.01M.
• Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire, an appropriate Computing Environment or vendor certification for associated communications equipment being supported in accordance with IAWF DoD 8570.01M.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting network configurations, Windows 10, ACAS/Nessus scans, STIG checklists and SCAP scans.
• Must possess active DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience conducting STIG/SCAP remediation and applying system patches and upgrades.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to travel up to 60% to support mission requirements.
