Job summary

Ardalyst Defense, LLC in Norfolk, VA is seeking an IT Systems & Communications Technician to support the Navy customer. You will install, monitor, and maintain network devices, Windows desktops, and related peripherals onsite at Naval Station Norfolk.

The role requires DoD clearance, IAT II or higher, and the ability to travel up to 60%. You will help ensure IA compliance, develop SOPs, and work with a dedicated system support team. Competitive benefits and training support available.

Qualifications

• Must hold IAT II or higher certification per DoD 8570.01M.
• Must obtain Computing Environment or vendor certification within 6 months of hire.
• At least 1 year of experience with network configurations, Windows 10, ACAS/Nessus scans, STIG/SCAP checks.
• Must possess active DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience applying system patches and upgrades and remediation per STIG/SCAP.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, test, and perform Tier 1-2 maintenance on network devices and Windows desktops onsite.
• Ensure IA compliance through regular patching, scanning, and reporting.
• Collaborate with the system support team to maintain operability and accreditation.
• Assist in developing SOPs, drawings, and system documentation.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems & Communications Technician to support the our Navy customer. In this role, you will provide install support and conduct maintenance on various equipment onsite at Naval Station Norfolk and deployed platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform day to day installation, monitoring, testing and Tier 1-2 maintenance actions for network devices (routers and switches), communications equipment, Windows desktop systems and associated peripherals by installing, updating, conducting routine health checks, and troubleshooting/resolving technical issues.
• Ensure IA compliance by patching, scanning, and providing scans regularly.
• Work with a dedicated system support team to ensure operability and compliance/accreditation for all associated equipment.
• Assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), drawings, and system documentation.

Required Skills

• Have a current IAT II or higher security certification in accordance with IAWF DoD 8570.01M.
• Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire, an appropriate Computing Environment or vendor certification for associated communications equipment being supported in accordance with IAWF DoD 8570.01M.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting network configurations, Windows 10, ACAS/Nessus scans, STIG checklists and SCAP scans.
• Must possess active DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience conducting STIG/SCAP remediation and applying system patches and upgrades.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to travel up to 60% to support mission requirements.
