Job summary

Delphinus Engineering is seeking an Engineer to support US Navy tasking, developing and testing shipboard and shore-based HM&E systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to create, modify, and use system documentation and schematics, and support fielded software/hardware solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 1+ year experience, and an active clearance or ability to obtain one. Travel up to 40% and hybrid work options are expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical data.
• Basic mechanical and electrical principals.
• Basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis approaches.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Attention to detail and meticulous logging of testing, troubleshooting steps, and findings.
• Ability to collaborate on a large, geographically distributed, cross functional team.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support existing systems delivered to the Navy and advise Navy personnel on upgrade strategies.
• Advise Navy teams on system architecture, software frameworks, and development strategies.
• Lead new development projects to upgrade HM&E systems for shipboard and shore labs.
• Generate, modify, and review requirements and design specifications for HM&E systems.
• Create and execute test plans and verify HM&E system functionality.
• Troubleshoot and test electrical and Navy shipboard HM&E equipment.
• Review and modify software to meet specs and improve performance.
• Create technical documentation such as manuals and training materials.
