Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) seeks a Federal Employee to perform comprehensive maintenance on Navy Exchange and Navy Lodge facilities. You will help ensure safe, quality environments for active-duty military, retirees, and families.

The duties include preventive maintenance, carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing repairs, with supervision. A CDL with Class B, HazMat training within 90 days, and DOT screening are required.

Qualifications

• One year of general maintenance experience.
• Three years of maintenance work involving painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.
• Possession of a valid CDL with Class B endorsement.
• HazMat training within 90 days of hire.
• DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled by supervisor.
• Performs carpentry tasks in alteration, repair, or maintenance of buildings and equipment.
• Paints interior and exterior areas, prepares surfaces, and maintains painting tools.
• Performs electrical repairs, may install circuit breakers and wiring.
• Performs plumbing repairs and replaces defective parts of utility systems.
