Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Navigation Lead Staff GNC Engineer to join and lead a team of Navigation Engineers. This on-site role can be in Rancho Bernardo, CA or Palmdale, CA, with travel up to 25%.

The candidate will guide cross-functional teams to design, integrate, and test advanced Vehicle Management System hardware and software for a dynamic aerospace environment. The role requires a DoD Top Secret clearance eligibility, and extensive experience in navigation systems, system integration

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 12+ years of related engineering experience, or a Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
Experience with requirements management, system integration, test plan development, and test execution.
Proficient with MATLAB for data analysis.
General understanding of MIL-STD-1553, RS-232, RS-422, Ethernet; GPS/INS knowledge.
Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance and SAP/PAR access.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of 3-5 engineers in the development, integration and testing of Vehicle Management System software/hardware.
Coordinate with suppliers, chief engineers and IPT Leads to ensure requirements are incorporated into designs.
Evaluate navigation systems, products and components through design and testing.
Create statements of work, specifications and interface control documents; manage schedules and reviews.
Collaborate across functional teams to meet customer needs and provide technical guidance.
