Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Navigation Lead Staff GNC engineer to join and lead our team of Navigation Engineers. This role is onsite in Rancho Bernardo, CA or Palmdale, CA with travel up to 25% and no remote option.

The candidate should have a strong background in navigation systems, MATLAB-based data analysis, and experience leading technical teams within an IPT structure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 12+ years of related engineering experience, or Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
• Experience with requirements management, system integration, test plan development, and test execution across development, demonstration and production phases.
• Proficient with MATLAB for data analysis.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553, RS-232/RS-422, Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3-5 engineers in development, integration and testing of Vehicle Management System software/hardware.
• Coordinate with strategy partners and IPT Leads to ensure requirements are incorporated into designs.
• Evaluate navigation systems, products, components and applications by designing and testing.
• Prepare statements of work, specifications, interface control documents and program schedules; lead design reviews.
• Collaborate across functional teams to meet customer needs and communicate effectively.
