Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector in Chandler, AZ seeks a GNC Engineer at Level 3 or 4 to define navigation performance for advanced missiles and space launch systems. This 100% onsite role emphasizes building models and verifying navigation algorithms from day one.

You will work on inertial and GPS/GNSS navigation, Kalman filters, and integration with flight software, collaborating with engineers and customers to deliver mission-ready solutions under a 9/80 work schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in navigation systems.
• Experience with inertial, satellite-based, or integrated navigation systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and assess navigation models and simulations for advanced weapons, tactical strike, and missile defense interceptor applications
• Support analysis of inertial, GPS/GNSS, and integrated navigation systems
• Evaluate navigation performance across diverse mission environments, including low-altitude flight, high-speed and high-dynamic engagements
• Evaluate sensor performance, including IMUs, GPS receivers, radar altimeters, and other aiding sources as applicable
• Support Kalman filter analysis, navigation algorithm evaluation, and performance studies
