Job summary

Applied Research Laboratory at the Penn State University in Warminster, PA, seeks a Navigation Analysis Research and Development Engineer to join the NRDD to support R&D, prototype development, and evaluation of new navigation technologies for military platforms.

The candidate will work on detailed sensor knowledge, data analysis, and collaboration with scientists and engineers. On-site work at the NRDC in Warminster, with possible travel for field-testing and subsystems evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of MATLAB or other programming languages.
  • Excellent communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Master's degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Engineering Physics or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire detailed knowledge in navigation sensor and systems technology.
  • Work with interdisciplinary team to bring ideas to fruition.
  • Perform data analysis on navigation sensors and systems.
  • Analyze laboratory and field test data.
  • Develop skills in analysis to plan and conduct tests.
  • For higher level: write reports on analysis and test efforts, generate tools and scripts to support data analysis, interpret results, analyze deficiencies in observed performance, write test documentation, and develop/verify sensor models for M&S efforts.
