Job summary
Applied Research Laboratory at the Penn State University is seeking a Navigation Research and Development Engineer to join the NRDD in Warminster, PA. Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in R&D projects.
- Extensive experience in using MATLAB for design, modeling, and simulation.
- Deep expertise in precision navigation systems and sensor fusion.
- Experience with DoD projects and defense acquisition standards.
- Knowledge of signal processing and real-time data analysis for navigation.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering collaboration.
- Ability to present complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers in designing algorithms and techniques for navigation systems in undersea environments.
- Lead and perform navigation modeling and simulation to support trade studies.
- Analyze multi-sensor data to evaluate system performance.
- Collaborate with engineers, program management, sponsors and stakeholders.
- Prepare research papers and presentations.
- Investigate and apply theories to navigation system development.
- Document work through reports and presentations.
- Engage with program sponsors and participate in strategic planning.
- Pursue new business development activities and manage program resources.
