Job summary

Applied Research Laboratory at the Penn State University is seeking a Navigation Research and Development Engineer to join the NRDD in Warminster, PA. Qualifications

  • Experience with DoD projects and defense acquisition standards.
  • Knowledge of signal processing and real-time data analysis for navigation.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering collaboration.
  • Ability to present complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers in designing algorithms and techniques for navigation systems in undersea environments.
  • Lead and perform navigation modeling and simulation to support trade studies.
  • Analyze multi-sensor data to evaluate system performance.
  • Collaborate with engineers, program management, sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Prepare research papers and presentations.
  • Investigate and apply theories to navigation system development.
  • Document work through reports and presentations.
  • Engage with program sponsors and participate in strategic planning.
  • Pursue new business development activities and manage program resources.
