Job summary
The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory seeks a Navigation Software Engineer to advance navigation technologies for Navy and other government customers. You will design, develop, test, and deploy software in a lab setting, collaborating with scientists and engineers to push core navigation analytics and sensor tech forward.
On-site in Warminster, PA, with travel to field sites as needed. BS in engineering/science required; DoD security considerations apply.
Qualifications
- Completed CS Courses: Data Structures, Systems Software, Software Engineering, Object-Oriented Design, and Algorithms
- Completed Math Courses: Calculus I-III, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra
- Knowledge of C and C++ programming languages
- Experience with POSIX operating systems
Responsibilities
- Contribute to design, development, test, and implementation of software products
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers
- Build core competencies in software architecture, implementation, test, and deployment
- Strengthen capabilities in numerical analysis and algorithm design
- Develop expertise in navigation sensor and systems technology
- Lead design, development, testing, and documentation for ARL contracts
