Job summary

SAIC is seeking a dedicated Enhanced Distance Support Network Engineer to join the TACNET CB-ISEA team and provide Tactical Networks Remote Assistance (TNRA) to fleet units. This is an onsite role at NIWC-LANT in Norfolk, VA, with up to 10% travel.

The engineer will perform remote troubleshooting, documentation, and mentorship while ensuring aligned support strategies and timely issue resolution for CANES networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years related military network experience; Master's degree allowed with 0 years experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Active Secret clearance to start is required.
• DoD IAT-II certification required.
• Security certification (Security+, CASP, etc.) and OS certs (CCNA, Linux+, MS Server 2019+, VMware, etc.) are required or obtainable within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide TNRA remote network support for CANES variants (NIPR/SIPR) across fleet units.
• Perform remote troubleshooting and review CICDs, IETM, ECRs, Master DSRs, and CMPRO.
• Escalate unresolved issues to Sustainment Engineering after exhaustive troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with SMEs and stakeholders to resolve fleet issues and refine support processes.
• Author Daily Status Reports (DSRs) and ensure document quality within HELIX.
• Maintain ticket records and assist with on-deck skill maintenance for PMW-160 baselines.
• Mentor new EDS technicians during onboarding and training.
