Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Systems Administrator to support high-profile Navy/NWIC projects in the Newport, Rhode Island area. You will install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux components, manage AD, and ensure security controls for DoD systems.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance, US citizenship, and IAT Level 2 certification, with hands-on experience in VMware ESXi, Oracle/SQL databases, and Active Directory. Strong documentation and cross-team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
US Citizenship required.
DoD IAT Level 2 certification (Security+, CE).
Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related experience, or Associate’s degree with 3 years.
2 years of experience administering Windows Active Directory, including GPO management; VMware ESXi; SQL and Oracle databases.
Experience with Windows Server 2012–2019 and Windows 10; familiarity with Linux (RHEL).
Ability to document SOPs, design system specs, and create technical publications.

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain systems components; install, configure, and update hardware and software.
Manage user accounts, access rights, and backups; ensure security controls per policy.
Perform patching, recovery tests, and data integrity checks.
Provide operations and maintenance support for DoD C4I systems.
Oversee network policies, system configuration, and incident response.
Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and perform routine maintenance.
