Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions in Fallon, Nevada is seeking a skilled Material Procurement Specialist responsible for research, procurement, and use of Navy Supply System and open purchase procedures. You will maintain databases, screen requests, and generate documentation.

The ideal candidate has Navy aviation supply training and at least three years of procurement experience, a valid Nevada driver's license, OSHA 10, and the ability to pass background and drug tests.

Qualifications

• Navy Aviation Supply Training.
• Three years of Material Procurement experience.
• Must possess a valid Nevada Driver's License.
• OSHA 10 card or ability to obtain within the first 90 days of employment.
• Capable of passing a background check for CAC Card and/or drug test as required by the contract.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must possess the ability to perform assigned work tasks without more than normal supervision.
• Ability to read, write and speak proficiently in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains databases for all material requisitions from Naval Supply System purchases and open purchases through civilian sources.
• Screens procurement requests to assign SM&R code, national stock number, part number, price, proper quantity, and reference.
• Originates necessary documents, forms, reports, and queries various computer work systems to extract information concerning property.
• Utilizes a module of an automated work management system to perform duties that interface with the other key users of the same system.
• Updates all applicable reports as required by contract and notifies government on Lost, Damaged or Destroyed property as required by contract.
• Processes each demand by submitting required paperwork to include DD Form 1348 (Issue Release/Receipt Document) and DD Form 1149 (Requisition and Invoice/Shipping Document).
• Tracks and coordinates monthly calibration requirements.
• Reports all cost items and long lead-time items to GSE Supervisor.
• Coordinates receipt of all incoming materials, delivery of materials to respective work centers, and obtaining signed receipt copies for filing.
• Performs all DRMO procedures to turn in or dispose of unused items.
• Maintains follow-ups on all outstanding requisitions.
• Adheres to the established Company Safety and Personnel policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
