Job summary

SSI is seeking a Naval Ship Engineering Manager to support NSWCPD Surface ship programs by providing configuration management, engineering change control, HM&E systems engineering, and design support. The role assists with ship modernization, acquisition, sustainment, and technical issue resolution across multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities include managing ECPs and SCDs, coordinating testing and design reviews, and delivering on-site engineering support for ship design teams.

Qualifications

• 7 years of professional experience in engineering support for U.S. Navy HM&E shipboard systems
• Experience in development and deployment of relevant technologies that improve ship operation, cost and performance
• Must have a Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Support configuration management and control system changes throughout the lifecycle
• Manage and track Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Ship Change Documents (SCDs)
• Assist with developing ECPs, resolving design discrepancies, and supporting design reviews
• Track HM&E equipment, ISEA advisories and Naval messages, and maintain status reports
• Provide ship hull, mechanical, electrical and control systems engineering support for ship acquisition, modernization, and in-service efforts
• Contribute to engineering studies, risk analyses, and system performance evaluations
• Provide on-site support to ship design teams, helping resolve technical issues and review test procedures and proposed ship changes
