Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO Bremerton is seeking an Area Manager to oversee ship repair project delivery from planning through final milestone. You will coordinate with customers, Navy representatives, and internal teams to keep schedules and budgets on track.

Candidates typically hold a BA/BS or AA/AS with related experience; 4 years in ship repair preferred. The role requires navigation of Microsoft Office tools, willingness to travel, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically has a BA/BS or AA/AS plus 2 years directly related experience or 4 years directly related experience.
• Experience managing technical personnel within complex shipboard availabilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint; able to navigate a server environment.
• Experience with cost-type or fixed-type contracts is a plus.
• Hold a valid driver's license and reliable transportation; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent, complex analysis and concept formulation for project planning and execution.
• Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with customers, partners and US Navy to ensure milestones are met.
• Develop detailed task lists and resource allocation plans based on inputs from senior management.
• Identify project scope changes and renegotiate as needed to protect schedules and budgets.
• Manage 3 to 5 assigned personnel and ensure on-time project delivery.
