Job summary

Precise Systems is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer Associate to deliver FEM and FEA services to our NSWC Carderock customers. This in-person role requires a Secret security clearance and will involve preparing ship models, refining meshes, and performing UNDEX simulations to assess structural integrity.

The position demands a Bachelor's in engineering with ABET accreditation and at least two years of FE analysis experience, using FEMAP, HyperMesh, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering related to structural analysis (ABET-accredited).
• Two years of experience with finite element analysis (FEA) including FEMAP.
• Experience creating and modifying shell (2D) and beam (1D) models in FEM software such as Femap and HyperMesh.
• Experience with ship structures in drawings or 3D product models (Navisworks).
• CAD experience (SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

• Perform FEM and FEA analyses to assess the structural integrity of ships, submarines, and components.
• Prepare full ship models (LHA-30 and LPD-8) for analysis to support Rough Water Trials.
• Refine meshes using Femap/HyperMesh in accordance with 3D models, drawings, and inspections.
• Develop and modify FE models related to structural analysis and UNDEX simulations.
• Ensure FEM/FEA work adheres to guidelines and QA measures.
