Job summary

Precise Systems seeks a Modeling and Simulation Engineer Associate to deliver FEM and FEA services for Navy platforms at NSWC Carderock in a require-to-work-on-site environment. The role involves building and refining ship models, executing simulations, and supporting analysis from design through testing.

Bachelor's in engineering and two years of FE analysis experience are required, along with proficiency in FEMAP/HyperMesh, NAVISWORKS, and SolidWorks to advance structural assessments.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering bachelor's degree or equivalent in a structural-analysis field.
• Two years of FE analysis experience with FEMAP or similar software.
• Experience creating/modifying shell (2D) and beam (1D) models in FE software (Femap/HyperMesh).
• Experience with NAVISWORKS for 3D product models and references.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare full ship models for analysis to support Rough Water Trials.
• Refine meshes (1D/2D) to match design models and inspections.
• Create hybrid FEM/Nastran models for UNDEX simulations.
• Modify ship models to add foundations for preliminary design analysis.
• Refine full ship models to meet intermediate mesh requirements for compatibility.
• Develop and update FEMs for structural integrity and response of ships/subs.
• Ensure FEMs comply with guidelines and QA measures.
