Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a Construction Coordinator to oversee the AOR program construction. You will define project scope, goals and deliverables, and supervise all phases to ensure work is completed safely, on time and within contract specifications.

You will coordinate with trades management, identify risks, assess design and scheduling issues, and drive cost performance while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• 2 years foreman experience or equivalent education
• 4 years exempt related experience (Planning, Production Control, Engineering, Construction/Project, Merchant Marine)
• 6 years non-exempt professional experience

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for AOR, including defining the project scope, goals and deliverables that support build strategy and key event schedule.
• Manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders to ensure quality and safety standards are met and that work is being performed as scheduled within contract specifications.
• Identify and expedite the resolution of design, material, grouping, scheduling, manpower, or other problems that could risk accomplishment of critical path work.
