Job summary

Rolls Royce is seeking a Hydrodynamics Specialist in Walpole, MA, to contribute to the design and analysis of marine propulsion equipment. You will take charge of the hydrodynamic design, evaluation, and liaise with various production teams to ensure high-performance designs.

The ideal candidate must possess a relevant degree and extensive experience in computational fluid dynamics. Proficiency in engineering tools such as PTC CREO and familiarity with marine design parameters are essential. This position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in hydro mechanics/dynamics for candidates with an Associate’s degree.
• 6+ years of experience in hydro mechanics/dynamics for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree.
• 4+ years of experience in hydro mechanics/dynamics for candidates with a Master's degree.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, and model-scale testing of marine propulsion devices.
• Liaison between foundry, blade machining production, and quality inspection.
• Support proposal development and conduct critical calculations.

Skills

Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics tools

Programming in Fortran, Basic, C, C++

Familiarity with Marine Propeller Blade Geometry

3D CAD tools and structural Finite Element Analysis

Education

Associate’s degree in relevant engineering discipline with 10+ years experience

Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline with 6+ years experience

Master’s degree in relevant engineering discipline with 4+ years experience
