Job summary

Regal Boats is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to lead design, integration, testing, and validation of propulsion systems for a range of 20' to 50' luxury recreational boats. You will ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with ABYC, USCG, NMMA, and ISO standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support new product development and production launches.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, 3+ years in marine systems engineering, and strong CAD skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a naval architecture, mechanical, electrical, or marine engineering field.
  • 3+ years of experience in marine systems engineering, preferably in boat building or OEM manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Rhino, Catia, Pro-E, or AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of ABYC, USCG, and NMMA regulations.
  • Experience with systems troubleshooting and failure mode testing.
  • Conversational English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead propulsion design and integration across the Regal Boats product line.
  • Evaluate and integrate marine engines, transmissions, sterndrives, outboard motors, propellers, and related components.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and naval architecture teams to optimize layouts and installation.
  • Evaluate engine and propeller combinations to optimize speed, efficiency, handling, and vessel performance.
  • Coordinate with engine manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical specs and installation requirements.
  • Develop and maintain propulsion testing procedures and technical documentation.
