Job summary

Acara Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Hardware Systems Engineer in Pittsfield, MA on a contract basis. You will support the development, integration, testing, and deployment of critical hardware infrastructure for U.S. Navy surface ships within an agile team.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware integration, systems engineering, troubleshooting, and documentation across multiple engineering disciplines, with a focus on secure, reliable, and mission-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Systems/Hardware/Engineering fields with a Bachelor's degree.
• 2+ years hardware integration, system testing, troubleshooting, or development.
• 1+ years reading engineering drawings, schematics, rack layouts, or technical docs.
• 1+ years supporting laboratory testing and validation of hardware systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering or related STEM.

Responsibilities

• Design, integration, configuration, and validation of infrastructure hardware systems for naval applications.
• Develop and implement solutions for secure, reliable, and scalable hardware infrastructure.
• Perform hardware testing, system verification, troubleshooting, and failure analysis in labs.
• Read engineering drawings, rack layouts, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
• Create and maintain technical docs, engineering artifacts, and configuration records.
• Collaborate across systems, electrical, mechanical, software, and integration engineering teams.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design reviews, integration testing, and verification.
• Support hardware deployments, upgrades, and sustainment activities.
• Work in agile teams to meet program objectives and customer commitments.
