Job summary

ORBIS Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to support NSWCPD, Department 20, Surface ship programs. The role focuses on configuration management, ECP/SCD handling, HM&E engineering, and design support for modernization and in-service efforts.

You will track advisories, participate in design reviews, and provide on-site assistance to ship design teams. A Master’s degree and U.S. citizenship with a secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 7 years of professional experience in engineering support for U.S. Navy HM&E shipboard systems.
• Experience developing and deploying technologies to improve ship operation, cost and performance.
• U.S. citizen and ability to obtain a secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support configuration management and control system changes throughout the lifecycle.
• Manage and track Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Ship Change Documents (SCDs).
• Assist with developing ECPs, resolving design discrepancies, and supporting design reviews.
• Track HM&E equipment, ISEA advisories and Naval messages, and maintain status reports.
• Provide ship hull, mechanical, electrical and control systems engineering support for acquisition, modernization, and in-service efforts.
• Contribute to engineering studies, risk analyses, and system performance evaluations.
• Provide on-site support to ship design teams, helping resolve technical issues and review test procedures and proposed ship changes.
