Job summary

ICI Services Corporation, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking an Auxiliary Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on supporting surface vessels and shipboard equipment with HM&E integration and system optimization.

You will collaborate with government stakeholders, shipyards, and technical teams, contribute to design reviews, and ensure compliance with quality standards. A DoD SECRET clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Support various engineering and technical activities throughout the design and construction processes of surface vessels and shipboard equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems and mission equipment.
• Analyze operational requirements and develop technical solutions supporting mission needs.
• Conduct in-depth evaluation of the systems’ functionality, arrangement within the 3D environment, and performance, using tools such as Autodesk Navisworks applications, 2D dwg files, hand calcs, and prescriptive equations and standards.
• Support detailed design, integration, shipyard construction, and delivery of auxiliary systems to include HVAC, liquid cooling, potable and wastewater, electrical, propulsion, and/or deck systems.
• Conduct requirements analysis, interface management, and configuration management activities.
• Develop and review engineering documentation, technical reports, and system specifications.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, program offices, shipyards, and technical teams.
• Support Naval Architecture and HM&E systems initiatives as applicable.
• Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and system assessments.
• Take part in the evaluation and improvement of shipbuilding processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
