Job summary

JSL Technologies, Inc. in Port Hueneme, CA seeks a Naval GWS In-Service Engineer to provide system-level engineering, test & evaluation, and fleet technical assistance for Navy Gun Weapon Systems (MK 34, MK 48).

You will bridge land-based testing and active shipboard operations to ensure reliability and drive design changes across the lifecycle. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to support DoD programs, with a focus on obsolescence

Qualifications

Must demonstrate strong ability to produce clear technical documentation and work products.
Experience with MS Office and engineering-related software tools is expected.
Ability to read technical schematics and drawings and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.

Responsibilities

Test & Evaluation (T&E): Develop test plans and validate hardware/software at SWEF, land-based sites, and on ships.
Fleet Technical Assistance: Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for naval crews.
Engineering Change & Alterations: Draft ECPs, OrdAlts, and ShipAlts to improve system performance.
Obsolescence & DMSMS Mitigation: Identify replacement components for legacy hardware and perform assessments.
Technical Documentation: Create and update ICDs, manuals, and PMS documentation.
Quality & Logistics Support: Review vendor deliverables and manage equipment movement for tests.
Program Execution: Track schedules, analyze risks, and support Navy program reviews.
