Job summary

Rolls-Royce Indianapolis is seeking an Engineering Program Manager for Naval GT Programs to plan and deliver projects for gas turbine packages, coordinating cross-functional teams across design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning for marine applications.

The role requires US citizenship and security clearance eligibility, a relevant engineering degree with 5+ years or a master with 3+ years, and willingness to travel. Relocation assistance is provided; Indianapolis, IN is the location.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with 5+ years of experience.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology with 3+ years experience.
  • US Citizenship and eligibility for Security Clearance.
  • Experience in design, development, test, certification of gas turbine module integrated GT packages.
  • Strong technical project planning and management experience and ability to lead a multifunctional engineering team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of risk and safety management within a quality management framework.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Customers, Design Engineers, Program Controllers, Program Managers, Resource Managers, Supply Chain, and Suppliers to deliver project schedules, resource estimates, clear definition of deliverables, and adherence to the plan and budget.
  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
  • Analyze engineering sketches, specifications and related data, and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts. Engage in configuration management and change control of components, subsystems, and systems, including design documentation and data deliverables.
  • Compile and analyze test data to determine the effect on equipment design. Consider such factors as temperature, pressures, speed, power, and fuel consumption into the analysis. Oversee and participate in the testing of gas turbine power generation modules, mechanical drive packages, and control system components.
  • Manage processes as needed for responsible work packages, including PCB, safety management, risk management, cost management, internal and external program reviews.
  • Travel as required to support supervision of genset operations.
