Job summary

Fortis Native Group is actively seeking a full-time HVAC Mechanic to support our Southern California contract for NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems on government facilities.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, CA certifications (NATE Core Service, EPA 608), and a valid driver's license. Safety and quality are top priorities in this mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment and complex systems.
Possess California required licenses and certifications (NATE Core Service with Air Distribution, EPA 608).
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical systems.
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain AHUs, RTUs, split systems, chillers, boilers, and related components.
Service chilled water, hydronic heating, condenser water, condensate, and pumping systems.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions using blueprints and diagrams.
Ensure safe operation by inspecting belts, bearings, filters, motors, and controls.
Perform refrigerant recovery, leak detection, and system testing per EPA rules.
Respond to emergency service calls and complete scheduled maintenance.
Coordinate with supervisors and government representatives to support operations.
