Teaching and curriculum development will span ship design, propulsion, hydrodynamics, and marine systems.

Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Excellence in teaching and strong communication skills.
Ability to develop externally funded, applied research with undergraduate and graduate students.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
Develop and deliver courses in Ship Design, Ship Propulsion, Ship Resistance, Marine Structures, Hydrodynamics, and related areas.
Advise senior design and capstone projects and integrate experiential learning into coursework.
Establish an active program of applied research and pursue external funding opportunities.
Forge partnerships with shipyards, industry, government, and interdisciplinary collaborators; mentor students and engage in service.
