Job summary

Textron Systems is offering a 2027 Naval Architecture Engineer (Marine) intern position in New Orleans, LA. The role includes requirements analysis, hull design concepts, and naval calculations, with mentorship and hands-on project work.

The ideal candidate is pursuing or has completed a bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and can work 40 hours per week with a flexible summer schedule. A security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during a summer internship.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conducts requirements analysis and executes verification and validation experiments in a project team.
• Performs naval requirements analysis to develop concepts for high speed marine vessels.
• Prepared calculations including weight, propulsion and range estimates.
• Develops hull forms/lines, arrangements and basic hull structural definitions for concept designs.
• Prepares technical reports or reviews data provided by others as directed.
• Performs Naval Architectural calculations for floodable length, hydrostatics and stability.
