Textron is offering a 10-week internship in Manufacturing Engineering (Marine) in New Orleans, LA. This program provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and real project work across manufacturing tooling, process planning, and RCCA initiatives, preparing you for future engineering roles.

Ideal candidates are pursuing or have completed a Mechanical Engineering degree, with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office suite experience.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Engineering on tooling and build-plan methodology; analyzes manufacturability of designs.
• Guides manufacturing processes, tooling methodology, and time standards for new parts; maintains process plans/work instructions.
• Develops learning curve and hour projections for new program production; analyzes performance and suggests improvements.
• Oversees creation of MBOM to enable MRP, order release, scheduling, and sourcing.
• Provides technical guidance to drive RCCA on production issues related to design, materials, tooling, and processes.
• Interprets engineering drawings and process specifications to ensure proper manufacturing.
• Ensures compliance of processes and procedures with regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
