Job summary

Maritime Technology Startup (Stealth) is seeking a Naval Architect Intern for the Summer or Fall term in El Segundo, California. The internship offers an hourly rate of $38/hr – $46/hr with a minimum commitment of 12 weeks. Interns will work on improving onboard systems integration across vessels and will take ownership of significant projects. Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related fields and have a strong foundation in engineering principles, along with practical fabrication experience. The position provides various perks including a housing stipend and flexible paid time off.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering including CAD and simulation.
  • Experience in hands-on prototyping and fabrication.
  • Ability to work closely with hardware and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the integration of onboard systems on vessels.
  • Support the design of sensor mounts and electrical panels.
  • Assist with hardware installation and testing activities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical integration issues.

Skills

Mechanical Engineering fundamentals
